Om Malik said "Apple New What?"
Was it that much of a surprise? MAYBE (let me stress that Maybe), the Hi-Fi stereo was one...but that is something that has somewhat been out before. The new Intel based Mac Mini...everyone expected that. I don't really know if I would call this "fun" stuff, or not give any details except for a time/date and place for this conference.
Heres to another bleh. Yea, bleh.
Vista has released the data for the official versions of Windows Vista. Brandon at Longhornblogs.com has more info (sorry, CS doesnt give me a text editor on IE7/Vista)

Apparently I can use hard HTML in my post, without going to the HTML portion of the post creator
Mine is:

Thanks to Litheon (the man behind the scenes at Majornelson.com) for setting this up.
I talked about the XDCP a week or 2 ago (You can still apply). Well, Litheon is part of that, and he is doing some amazing work.
You can check out my stats over here.
I downloaded Trillian 3.1, and it works perfectly. No compatibility issues.
So...many people (MVPs) probably use MSN/Live Messenger...and it is a great app. But, with the revolution AOL did to the internet in the mid to late 1990s has made ALOT of people AIM users. MSN tends to be used by alot of people born outside the United State. But inside the states, a good 95% of the people I talk to via an instant messenger client uses AIM.
Now, the problem lies here. AIM ver. 3.9 (whatever the new, non beta is) will have compatibility issues (vista prompts you during installation). AIM Tritan (their beta AIM software) also has compatibility issues. Now the big thing here is AIM Express (synonymous with Web Messenger) cant launch for some reason. Maybe its me...but, I think it may be Vista.
Now, I dont have anything against vista because of this, because...software developers have to start changing over to vista, it is just annoying to not have an instant messege client to use. I dont know if I will use Vista to its full use until I can get a messenger client (that runs aim) to work.
Heres to trying Trillian.
This is something I looked for...right as the new build was released, and boy am I glad it has been. Major Nelson posted a link to a site in which you can stick (gives you instructions) your gamercard onto your Vista Sidebar.
This is freakin SWEET! Maybe someone from the XCDP (Xbox Community Developer Program) can great a recent games played list one.

Well, yesterday I finally got vista installed, and today I finally really booted it (actually played around with it). Well...I already have a problem. For some reason, I do not have the aero theme. I have the x600 graphics card from ATI (which says it is supported in vista). In previous builds, I have had Aero, but do not have it now.
Things I dont like:
1) The new "properties"...well that is what is was on all previous versions of Windows and of Vista builds. You right click on the desktop and go to "Properties" to change things around. I dont like that new interface.
2) How do I put cleartype on? Is it still available? Can I download the Aero theme? Heres to searching...
<edited to fix formatting, for some reason IE 7 on Vista doesnt want to format correctly>
I know I am late to the party...fashionably late that is. But, I was reading over some Tech.Memorandum links, and alot of them are on this Google Page Creator (GPC). I was about to create one and said "what do I need it for?". I have this blog (which I love), I have my MSN Spaces blog (lets say Glach 1.0), and I have the Xbox.com forums to get messages out (although they have to be Xbox related). So what is the point to that website? There isnt.
But upon reading a post by Ken Schafer, I realized...good thing I didnt. He talks about how, while a good concept and has good features, it has 1 massive downfall. Your Gmail account is your [username].googlepages.com address. So, if anyone wants to email you, or spam you for that matter, it is VERY easy to get your email address.
Google...we may want to rethink how we do that.
Linkage
So, IE7 doesnt show the text editor (or HTML) for CS 1.1, hopefully that is fixed with CS 2.0. My graphics driver for the X600 (ATI) in my computer does not work with this build. The background graphics, are beautiful...good job Microsoft. It seems to run a little slow for me...probably me, will see when I run it a couple of more times. Now back to XP, so everything works right. Thanks to Brandon from Longhornblogs.com for giving me instructions on how to virtually mount the ISO file.

You may say...an Xbox MVP, excited about a PS2 game going online?
Well...excited isnt really the right word. "Using sarcasm" should be there. So, Grand Tourismo 4 (GT4) went Gold (end of development) back in November of 2004. It was released in December in Japan, and Gamespot.com has a Feb 22, 2005 release date listed for the States.
So again...why the sarcasm? Because a game that was released a year ago is FINALLY going online? Kotaku mentions some features like:
- Voice Chat in Game (wait...doesnt every Xbox Live game have that...heck the Xbox360 dash has that, regardless of where you are)
- Up to 6 players. Wait wait...Forza had 8.
- World Wide Leader Board (welcome to the party Sony).
Forza Motorsports, has 8 players online, and was online since day one. Not only were there online game leader boards, but there were single play leaderboards.
Sony, what took you so long to release a product that isnt up to its rival, when it had an extra year to develop it?

Ok...first lets assume we have Windows Vista to choose from (because the computer will be upgraded to that when the time comes). So, Vista has a 32 bit, and 64 bit version.
Now...I am helping my friend father pick up a new computer (we are only going tower for now). But...I am debating, should I look at computers with a dual core, or with a 64 bit core?
Now...will a dual core on Vista process the same info, as a 64 bit one? I figure 2x32bit =64 bit...
Anyone got any info? It will be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and I was looking at some PCs at Tigerdirect.com. My mother got one there about a year or 2 ago...and it has been working beautifly. Now, for the dual core, they offer Gateways...which run on BTX. Should I put him into BTX now?
Many people probably ask...does Bill Gates actually play the XBox360?
Well...Trixie will be proud. He plays Zuma!
17 Minutes with Bill Gates via Channel 9
Cesar Menendez over at the Gamerscore blog, at the end of a post, put his "office quote" in there. In reaction to Peter Moore's office quote. Well...his was Chuck Norris. My favorite is Jack Bauer. Cmon now...he saves the US in 24 hrs. No one gets better on site service than that!
My top 10:
- If Jack Bauer was gay, his name would be Chuck Norris.
- Upon hearing that he was played by Kiefer Sutherland, Jack Bauer killed Sutherland. Jack Bauer gets played by no man.
- Jack Bauers calender goes from March 31st to April 2nd, no one fools Jack Bauer.
- Jack Bauer once won a game of Connect 4 in 3 moves. (One would think this is impossible.)
- Simon Says should be renamed to Jack Bauer Says because if Jack Bauer says something then you better f------- do it.
- When the boogie man goes to sleep, he checks his closet for Jack Bauer. (There is always someone scarier)
- Lets get one thing straight, the only reason you are conscious right now is because Jack Bauer does not feel like carrying you.
- Charmin attempted to put out a "Jack Bauer Toilet Paper". It had to be recalled because Jack Bauer takes s--- from nobody.
- Chuck Norris does not sleep; he waits... Jack Bauer does not have the luxury to sleep or wait, because your life depends on it.
- It would only take 1 bullet for Jack Bauer to kill 50 Cent.
Any other MVPs out there know how to restrict "annonymous" (people who dont have a CS account) comments from posting?
There are people, like my other Xbox MVPs...well, maybe 1 or 2, that post comments here...but I see them as "annonymous" in my admin panel. But, I seem to be getting medical drug spam. I do not want that instantly published.
Anyone know how to do this? I am set up like this right now:

I have automatic updates set up. Which is good...I like to be on top of updates. But...when it asks me if I want to restart now, and I click "restart later"...I dont mean later as in 5 or 10 minutes later. By "restart later" I mean..."when I can get to it".
Now...why does it ask me every 10 minutes if I want to restart? Annoyance.
I believe it is called "The Great American Race". Nascar doesnt truly "do it for me", but, I watch it sometimes. I was able to catch the 2 lap shootout (that was actually cut a little short by the caution flag).
But...did anyone else notice that the 48 car, Jimmie Johnson, won the 48th Daytona 500? Coincidence? Maybe.
