This just in, Apple worth more than Dell!
Was reading Buzzmachine, the blog of Jeff Jarvis, and he is reporting that Dell is now worth LESS than Apple. He goes on to say (paraphrased) that it is QUALITY over quantity. Not only that, it must make Jeff happy, as he pretty much hates Dell (from what I have read).
I am a fan of the Quality over quantity mind set...it isnt how much you do, but how good you do it. We have a system similar to that at the Xbox.com forums. Every user has a "Community User Level". That level shows, essentially, how trustworthy your posts are. If you are helpful, it goes up. If you are a troublemaker (outside of being banned) your CUL goes down. The misconception is that it is totally post based. Well, that is correct, if you look at the quality, but, no it is not post count related.
I am not 100% sure of the top CUL, but I believe it is around a 5. Now, people like MVPs, Moderators, Xbox Staff, E, J. Allard, Xbox Support, and Developers each have their own specific CUL, V, M, X, E, J, S, and D, respectivly.
Its really a great system that rewards the good, and...punishes the bad. Drop by the forums!
