Realtime Publishers, Content Central, and XOSoft have teamed up with Paul Robichaux to publish a free eBook called The Definitive Guide to Exchange Disaster Recovery and Availability.
The book is free to download from Content Central, but you will have to register on the site for access. It seems they will release this chapter by chapter. Chapter 1 is completed and available now.

Session Abstract
: Brought to you in association with the Exchange Centre of Excellence (ECoE) in the UK this event focuses on two aspects of Exchange Deployment; storage design, and high availability and site redundancy.
Session 1: Exchange 2003 Storage Design (Enterprise SAN) This session is focused on the key design concepts for Exchange 2003 Storage Solutions. It will introduce best practices based around scalability, IO Profiles, Latency, Disk Design, Cache and VSS. The presentation will also cover the importance and effect of disk latency on RPC Operations, in addition to testing practices and performance monitoring.
Session 2: Exchange 2003 High Availability and Site Redundancy Today’s businesses become reliant on their Exchange platforms as part of a mission critical application suite. As this demand increases more customers are looking to deploy site tolerant solutions for Exchange in the form of geographically disbursed systems. This presentation will cover all HA solutions for Exchange 2003 in addition to highlighting the pros and cons of each.

– UK Regional ECoE Lead (Dedicated Supportability Services), Wil is a specialist in High Availability solutions for Exchange Server. He has helped many enterprise customers deploy truly available Exchange 2003 solutions across multiple physical locations. Outside work he has what is known in the sport as ‘Carp Fever’ – meaning an addiction for carp fishing! Leaving his rods at home, socialising with friends and family fills the rest of his spare time.
Brad Carter – UK Regional ECoE (Engineering Services), Brad is the Exchange Risk Assessment Program Lead in EMEA. This program offers high availability and operational excellence by assessing risk and offering mitigation based on Microsoft Best Practices. He has 8 years of experience supporting enterprise messaging environments. He is a member of the UK Regional Exchange Centre of Excellence. Brad enjoys travelling, playing golf, and exploring wines from various countries/regions.

Want to participate in an important session at Tech Ed 2005 and gain valuable insight into Exchange and help guide future releases? We plan on holding 4 focus group sessions with Exchange IT Administrators at Tech Ed 2005 on June 7th (Tue) and June 9th (Thu) between 8.45 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. We require you to participate in one session only. This is an opportunity to give feedback about how well we convey the Exchange features and components so that they are meaningful, and easy to understand and deploy. We need Exchange IT Administrators with at least 4 years of in-depth experience working with Exchange Server, Outlook Web Access (OWA) (and or remote and mobile access), as well as other servers that sit on the gateway and perform message hygiene functions (examples are anti-spam, anti-virus, content filtering, and include servers like Sendmail Postfix, etc).
Each participant will receive a software package of their choice that ranges from games, MS Office, Visual Studio, etc. Interested participants should send email to Melroy D’Souza (melroyds AT microsoft DOT com). Please respond latest by Friday, June 3rd, 2005.

This optional update provides the Junk E-mail Filter in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with a more current definition of the e-mail messages that should be considered junk e-mail messages. This update was released in May 2005.

This article discusses Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) "tar pitting." The tar pit feature is an SMTP feature that is available on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). By default, the tar pit feature is disabled. To use the tar pit feature, an administrator must enable the feature by configuring the TarpitTime registry entry.
