Google shuts off anti-phishing feature in Firefox 2.0
Google Inc. planned to turn off the anti-phishing service used by Firefox 2.0 on Tuesday, a Mozilla Corp. executive said on Monday.
Although the two most-recent builds of Firefox 2.0, labeled 2.0.0.19
and 2.0.0.20, have omitted the defense, earlier editions of the browser
were still able to query Google for a list of sites suspected of
hosting identity theft scams. But Google is now shutting down the
blacklist, said Mike Beltzner, the director of Firefox.
