Apple ships a known vulnerable version of Flash with Snow Leopard;Adobe Security Team advised Snow Leopard users to update
The last thing you expect when you upgrade your operating system, is that you will have some of your security silently downgraded.
But that's precisely what seems to have happened with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, which ignores that you have been keeping Adobe Flash up-to-date and downgrades it to an earlier version, as the following YouTube video shows (see video clip in below link)
Mac users are not informed that Snow Leopard has downgraded their version of Flash without permission, and that they are now exposed to a raft of potential attacks and exploits which have been targeted on Adobe's software in recent months.
Graham Cluley of Sophos advised Mac SL users to check their version of Flash and update immediately, if old version is found: http://www.sophos.com/blogs/gc/g/2009/09/02/apple-ships-vulnerable-version-flash-snow-leopard/
Adobe Security Team is advising the same:
The initial release of Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) includes an earlier version of Adobe Flash Player than what is available from Adobe.com. We recommend all users update to the latest, most secure version of Flash Player (10.0.32.18) -- which supports Snow Leopard and is available for download from http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer

Not sure if Mac users don't get notified by updates for Flash Player but in Windows we do and I've seen such notice 2 years ago :D
