Spam Analyst: Twitter spam is possible
Terry Zink blog at MSDN on whether or not Twitter spam was possible.
He wrote:
It turns out that not only is it possible, but it's rampant and really annoying.
I signed up for Twitter a couple of weeks ago and without even having written a single thing, I already have 3 followers. But there's a catch, they're all spammers!

BTW, he discussed about short URL services so here, I will mention this articles again:
Is URL Redirection services safe to use?
Use ShuURL with Web Of Trust to view or create a short URL or use Microsoft MVP Steven Burn's http://surl.co.uk/
A CoU member suggested to use a Firefox add-on "Long URL Please" which will replace the the shortened URLs to its original URL/link. The thing is it's for FF users only and it's not helping other people who are using other browsers. So what Twitter users should do to help the community who want to follow them in Twitter? Simple: Learn to use surl.co.uk and/or ShuURL. Get involved by preventing to use unwanted services that you cannot even control!
