Does anyone have any links to studies that support the view that any of the emanations from such devices would jeaopardize any aspect of an airplane's communication or navigation system?

The reason I ask is that I am not entirely sure of the validity of the claims of interference.

I can see that having laptops out during takeoff or landing is a problem from a safety point of view - I wouldn't want a laptop flying around the cabin either.
