BDD 2007 Beta Updated for Windows Vista RC1

Business Desktop Deployment (BDD) 2007 Beta 2 is now available for download on Microsoft Connect. BDD 2007 provides end-to-end guidance and automation for large-scale deployment of Microsoft® Windows VistaT and the 2007 Microsoft Office system.

BDD 2007 Beta 2 has been updated to support Windows Vista RC1 and now includes guidance and automation for Zero Touch Installation (ZTI) using Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 as well as image creation of Microsoft Windows® XP desktop images.

BDD 2007 Beta 2 extends Beta 1 with the following key features:

Zero Touch Installation (ZTI) using SMS 2003 (requires OSD Update build 3726) in addition to Lite Touch Installation (LTI) when SMS 2003 is not in place.
Windows XP desktop image creation.
x64 hardware (running Windows XP or Windows Vista).
BDD Workbench installation of the Windows AIK during first use.
Windows Deployment Services images for Refresh, Replace, New, and Upgrade scenarios.
BDD Workbench now builds the set of files needed for SMS 2003 OS Deployment Feature Pack package creation.
Office 2007 deployment is integrated into the BDD Workbench to build the source share, create, and populate the application selection screens.

Business Desktop Deployment for Windows Vista

Many things have changed in Windows Vista that will significantly help ease the deployment processes. These include the new out-of-the-box imaging technologies, the XML-based migration scripts, new tools for image engineering (ImageX and System Image Manager), enhancements to the unattend.xml format, as well as an updated version of the Business Desktop Deployment Solution (BDD 3.0) to provide guidance on deployments. As with any advancement in technologies, getting the maximum benefit requires understanding the tools and technologies, some experimentation and absorption time along with best practices on deployment.

BDD 3.0 will be the best practice guidance on how to optimally deploy Windows Vista and the 2007 Office system. A pre-release version of BDD 3.0 will be available for download on June 8. This download will include all the deployment tools you’ll need, as well. To provide guidance and simplify deployments, BDD uses an integrated deployment workbench, built on top of innovative deployment tools such as ImageX, System Image Manager, Windows PE 2.0 and Windows Deployment Services.

74-139 BDD Solution Accelerator Exam

I took the 74-139 BDD Solution Accelerator partner exam today.

And i got 1000 marks (full marks). =)

I'm very happy about it. The exam focus on BDD Standard Edition and Lite Touch Installation.

Why don't it focus on Zero Touch Deployment, Zero Touch Provisioning and SMS OSD? =.="
