Here’s some of my thoughts on what Viiv means to Media Center, the PC in your home, and what it actually means to

Mr

Intel also said that all PC’s that ship with Viiv Technology will include Windows XP Media Center Edition. This will surely be a boost in sales for Microsoft for the MCE platform, plus consumers will get to bring a new world of growing opportunities with Media Center Extenders, much like the built-in Extender that will ship with the Xbox 360.

wow xbox 360 has a lot of problems though

Also, Intel's applications will use 10ft UIs as they are really trying to target the "mainstream user".

Charlie Owen on the Media Center Show

re: Thoughts on Intel Viiv Technology

Here's to the possibility of built-in transcoding hardware! It would add a little sugar to the possibly bitter spoonful of DRM that will likely be supported directly by the hardware.

re: Thoughts on Intel Viiv Technology

They are supposed to ship early 2006 IIRC.

re: Thoughts on Intel Viiv Technology

So when will we see this technology in Media Center PCs'?
