The new version of WMP does indeed defeat drmdbg . . .

The process runs and *looks* like it's doing a good job following the dll calls but doesn't actually spit out a key or kid.

Damned nation!

It will not help, because it's not "capturing the file". Your seeing the fact that your rendering using an Overlay. Move the Paint window and your video will disappear. It's an illusion and nothing more.

I have a protected wmv file on my computer. When I used ctrl shift print scr in a combination key stroke I was able to capture the file and paste it to paint. I then was able to veiw the file from paint. I hope this information will help potential crackers of the drm protection.

This information was sent out via Microsoft's Download Center RSS Feed (which isn't really MS hosted) a few minutes before it was posted here. Nothing special there, it can be accessed at http://www.thundermain.com/rss/ with any RSS reader. Gettng recognized as an MVP can be done a few ways, mine was for posting in the WMP Newsgroups. I know that you post in the Windows Media DRM groups, and that is one of the best ways.

Having said that, being an MVP in the DMD at Microsoft isn't always that great. The Windows Media group doesn't really listen to what any of the MVP's have to say about the product. Suggestions and bug reports are mainly ingorned by the WMP team at least, I never did a whole lot with the DRM guys, but the little I did do they were much more responsive.

Why did you know that update information ?
Is it a privilege of DigitalMedia MVP ?

I have been sent report about BUGS and SUGGESTIONS about WMRM/WMP/MCE/PMC/RMS and so on ... for a long time.
That included problem about this time(There is possibility of crack on DRM9 architecture).

But I did not get notification about update information .... :'-(

And I have been create and suggest Microsoft many new usage of DRM technology.
For example I developed "SuperDistributionSystem using DRM/RMS on P2P file sharing network" named "NetLeader"

How can I recognized as MVP ?
I have a WILL to want to be help for MicrosoftTechnology to be more cool.
