It doesn't display a total time for the currently selected playlist, or times of individual tracks in the playlist. Also does not allow double-click on a track within the library to play just that track - insists on adding the entire album to the playlist. If displaying library by artist in details format, and then expanding an artist, if you then click on the Artist within the breadcrumbs at the top of the screen you are taken to the list of artists starting with "A", and not back to the place you came from. Only way to achieve this is to use the back button within the application (top left).

The "Album Artist" view has been removed. This is a pain as you cannot now expand the albums within an artist in the left hand column, and still see all your other artists at the same time.

All in all a bit of a disaster. They have prettied up the display, but taken away a lot of useful options from WMP10 - Ah well - we are talking Microsoft here - useless C***s......

re: Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP Released

I just installed Media Player 11 and

IE 7.0, now most videos from popular

websites like utube, znet show a green

screen in IE, somtimes the video buffering is very slow. any ideas

Fresh install; fresh MP11 and fresh IE7 FINALS.

Results:

Black Cover art in MCE

All folder.jpg's replaced with Media Players own stupid versions from internet or random selected AlbumArtSMall.jpg etc from embedded artwork inside MP3's !

So if you have an Xbox 360 and it rescans your library (or you do this yourself) your own folder.jpg's will be overwritten ! And you can turn off "Download from Internet" option in MP11 as its user based setting and you cant logon as the xbox (MCX1 et al). If one knew in advance, you could extract the registry hive.....blah blah blah.....why should you have to!?

Track numbers - Cant blank them out as the tag editor in MP11 insists on setting a zero.

I normally support Microsoft but the muppets need a serious slapping and public humiliation!!! Does nothing get tested in that place ???? Idiots, pure muppets.

This is an absolute disgrace. All the bugs from previous versions still there. Only one Uk bug to do with date decrementing by 1 year on the Year released meta data has been fixed (and only because it was logged through Premier! and chased!)

Despite posting in various program managers blogs, these issues went RTM and in Vista. Truly disgusted and more wasted time working around Microsoft's shoddy workmanship.

Not sure what it brings to MCE though.
