If you have no issues with recording HBO programs now, you'll probably do much better not installing this update. Unless of course you install Windows Media Player 11, then it seems you'll need to install this update. For some reason, MSFT has added a 3-day expiration for certain recordings in WMP 11.

Even they don't fully understand how their DRM works.

There are actually problems with CGMS-A protection with every monthly update like this. At some point however, Microsoft has to finally figure out what they are doing in the updates that break it. Even though it lists HBO has a resolved issue, updates still can cause more problems (even in ones that it's trying to solve).

Based on past updates you would think so, but at some point they have to figure out what they are doing wrong.

I think if I had HBO I would not install this roll-up.
