&lt;p&gt;It would be great to be able to use the panel as a way to create code alerts based on security events or weather events. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I am really excited about this. I have always wanted to delve into home automation and distributed audio, but could not afford to have a pro do it (I assume I can do this myself). I have ethernet all over the house, and running a few more lines of cat 5 if necessary is no big deal. Kudos to Embedded Automation, looking forward to pricing and actual availability.&lt;/p&gt;
