Short Bits: Zune Mobile

This post is short for a reason, I don't have any real details.  This is just speculation on my part.

Still, expect more information about a Zune integrated with a phone later this year.  Some might call it a ZunePhone, but whatever you call it I believe it is for real and Microsoft has a dedicated team at now creating the v1 product.  I'm not suggesting there will be a new hardware product, I'm suggesting that the Zune software will find it's way onto Windows Mobile phones.

Some commenters have suggested that it will just be streaming from Zune-to-phones, not a ZunePhone.  As I said, I have no information on this but I do think it's real.  This post shouldn't be taken as inside information or a real news source, just me spouting off.

Update: "Come and join the “Connected Entertainment” experience on mobile handsets - the most ubiquitous, most personal and most used devices in the world. We are a rapidly growing, V1 product team with great opportunities for motivated individuals who can hit the ground running! "

Anyone want to join?

Update 2: I'm not suggesting there will be a new hardware product, I'm suggesting that the Zune software will find it's way onto Windows Mobile phones.  If Microsoft does a new hardware product, I wouldn't be suprised (especially now with Danger), but ZunePhone to me means Zune software on a Phone.

Neat!  I'd apply for the position, except for the fact that all my code is buggy and my brains are melted goo.

Connected Entertainment is Microsoft's strategy where they enable different entertainment devices to be able to communicate with each other for music/movies/games etc.

For example, if you have a song on your zune, you should be able to stream it on Xbox, your PC your mobile phone etc.. seamlessly. This is what connected entertainment is all about.

This has *nothing* to do with Zune phone.

Guess we will have to see, like I said I have no real information.

I see it different, considering Zune is nothing but Windows Mobile, why would you spend time developing a streaming app from your Zune to your WM phone that are sitting next to each other when you could integrate the Zune experience into the WM phone?  Mix that with Microsoft buying up Danger, and I think there is a very good case for the Zune+Phone situation.
