VidaBox vPadT Touchscreen Tablet Integrates Control of Multiple Web-Accessible Devices

WESTBURY, NY – January 7th – VidaBox LLC introduces the new vPad™ ultra-mobile tablet, designed to allow easy integration of multiple web-controllable devices.

“A common problem for AV integrators is providing a single point of control for their clients to access AV content, multizone audio, home automation, and other hardware and software systems in the home,” says Steven Cheung, a co-founder of VidaBox.  “Most manufacturers provide a web interface for their devices as a universal method to access and control these devices.  However, it becomes a challenge to integrate all of these different interfaces into an easy, presentable format – and that’s where the vPad™ comes in.”

The vPad™ features a full color, 10.4” SVGA TFT touchscreen with built-in 802.11b/g wireless support, along with an attractive recharging cradle.  Four programmable buttons on the top right corner of the vPad™ provide quick and convenient access to any web-controllable device.

“The strength of the vPad™ really shines when integrators take full advantage of the 1024x768 touchscreen, which provides a great deal of area to display information.  Most touchpanels in this size range only have a resolution of 800x600, or sometimes even 800x480, which severely limits control options and makes navigating through most web-based interfaces a terrible nuisance.”

To further simplify integration, the advanced media center manufacturer offers design services that allow installers to customize the interface with the clients’ name, a picture of their residence, and the integrator’s logo, all seamlessly embedded with one-touch access for a truly customized solution.  Every vPad™ is preconfigured and ready to go “out-of-the-box” when it is ordered with a VidaBox system.

“By providing both hardware & custom software for controlling web-accessible devices,” continues Cheung, “the vPad™ is an answer for installers looking for a truly complete solution – not just a piece of the integration puzzle.”
