v2 Extenders Get a Small Price Break? - Chris Lanier's Blog

v2 Extenders Get a Small Price Break?

Most of you know that I’m not too happy about the announced prices of v2 Extenders, but should I have waited to cry until retailers put them up on their websites?  Maybe so.

If you remember the Linksys without a DVD Player was set at $300, and with a DVD player at $350.  However, Google appears to be showing multiple retailers gearing up to knock $50 off the MSRP price tag.

The Linksys DMA2100 (w/o DVD) is starting to be listed on retailer’s sites for a low of $243, while the DMA2200 (w/ DVD) is at a low of $291.  $243 might not be $150, but the lower the better.

Hopefully these prices will stay low when these retailers actually get the products in stock.  No official release date has been set, but it should be this month.

Ian Dixon also points to a few UK based retailers that have them listed to, at £199 and £229.  Not sure yet if this is true, but more options for the UK guys out there is defiantly needed.

"more options" is an understatement - £199 at current rates is $415 at current rates...for the BASIC extender!!

I guess it really should be "more options to let you know that an Xbox 360 is the only good option for the money"

Hear anything new on the V2 Extender official release date yet?   I have been checking the OEM sites and the internet retailers everyday, and  still nothing new.  The best thing I could find is the esitmated Nov 21st:

There is no official date that has been released, but I would expect to see them shipping this month.
