Autonomic Controls Partners with AMX to Provide Media Center Integration
Autonomic Controls, Inc., announced that it has joined the AMX®
InConcert® manufacturer program, providing integrators a standardized, remote
application programming interface which gives them the ability to easily
provide two-way control of Microsoft Media Center via AMX control and
automation systems.
A pre-built module can be downloaded from Autonomic’s web
site (www.autonomichome.com/support.htm).
Autonomic Controls’ software, MCE Control Server (MCECS) acts as a
bi-directional communications gateway between Microsoft XP Media Center Edition
or Vista and integrated controllers from
companies like AMX. The software can facilitate control of MCE via IP, serial,
or USB connections.
“We’re very excited to be a part of AMX’s InConcert program”,
said Susan Polese, spokesperson for Autonomic Controls. “The AMX platform is an
ideal application of our technology. The advanced programming functionality of
their controllers and touch panels has enabled us to create a very rich user
experience.”
“We’re thrilled to see that the integration community is
embracing Microsoft Media Center,” said Todd Rutherford, Home Control Program
Manager in Microsoft’s eHome division. “Bi-directional control is an important requirement
for integrators, and we’re glad to see Autonomic Controls’ product meet those
needs.”
“Autonomic’s solution allows AMX to create a single set of
control modules for integrating Microsoft Media Center products into AMX
control systems, enabling us to focus on providing our dealers with rich
functionality,” said Michael Peveler, Director of AMX’s InConcert program.
The technology will be demonstrated this week at CEDIA Expo
at Intel’s booth on an S1Digital Media Center. Autonomic Controls will also be
demonstrating control system integration with Vista in Microsoft’s Pavilion at
the Electronic House Expo (EHX) in Long
Beach, CA November
14-17th.
