Media Center Extenders Slow To Take Off, Analyst Says....
Media Center Extenders slow to take off, analyst says | WindowsForDevices has an interesting bit on Media Center Extenders according to In-Stat Market Research.
Quote: “The market for media adapters -- "media center extenders," in Microsoft parlance -- currently remains limited to early adopters, according to In-Stat.“
If Microsoft would allow the Extenders to do what they say this would start to change. As it stands now, it doesn’t “extend” most peoples Media Center Experience. They are too limited and too expensive for what you get.
Quote: “In order to drive the market for Media Center Extenders, Media Center Edition 2005 (MCE) PC's need to become more available worldwide. The number of PC manufacturers offering MCE PCs is increasing rapidly.”
Hell yeah! However, in the meantime, just start releasing Extenders in the markets that have Media Center now? Media Center is already in dozens of markets where Extenders are not offered! There are a lot of issue getting Media Center out to everyone. Issues that Microsoft really can't control and that would make the product seem rushed to the un-educated user.
