Ok, so we've survived day 1 here in Seattle . . .
We started off with a TS2 this morning - and I honestly felt sorry for Raphael (the presenter) - I'm sure he wasn't properly briefed on just exactly what kind of crowd us SBSers are . . . :^)
Luckily for us, we've got wireless internet access here at the Red Lion - both in our rooms and in the conference center. Yeah! After this morning's TS2, we had a little party this afternoon / evening at Harry's house out on Bainbridge Island - it was a great time. In order to get to Harry's we had to take a ferry to Bainbridge Island. We had 3 charter buses full of SBSers on the ferry, and we joked that if that ferry sank, dang would smallbiz be hurting (at least for tech support!)
Again, I am amazed at the people I meet and get to talk to at SMB Nation. This is following last year's inagural event very closely in terms of the experience. One day into the conference and it has already proven it's value, with two and a half days to go. I'm looking forward to this weekend's sessions, and taking the ideas, conversations and contacts back to help further build our business. If you aren't here, why not? Seriously, only a personal / family event such as a wedding / funeral / etc. should qualify for not being here. If you're a small IT provider focusing on SBS / smallbiz, this the THE conference you need to be at. If you can't build your business from what you learn and take home from here, then nothing is going to build your business. Bottom line: You need to be here - period!
Oh - and I promise, the InfoPath-centric version of the wss demo is coming soon! I'm co-presenting with Susan Bradley & Jeff Middleton at Susan's SBS Hacks session, where I'll be talking about Sharepoint customizations. I'm hoping to have it presentable for the session, and post a link for the site sometime this weekend. Stay tuned - I'll let you know when it's live!
