Ok, ok - so I'll admit that using 'Hello World!' as the title to my first post is pretty cheesy. But everyone who has taken some sort of programming class knows that their first program for whatever language they're learning will inevitably have the phrase 'Hello World!' somewhere . . . :^)
And then again, maybe I just can't resist a cheesy reference . . . but I digress
Anyway - I've been thinking about starting to blog for a while, and finally broke down. I'm not sure how much time I'm going to have to keep up with this, but then again - it's not like anyone is actually going to read this, so no biggie! ;^) I'm pretty sure that I'm going to end up just posting about whatever subject happens to be on my mind at the moment - so consider yourself warned.
Let's see, I should probably mention a little background about me: Besides being an SBS MVP (SBS ROCKS!!!), I'm a technology provider in Omaha, NE focusing on small businesses. I currently have two partners, and I absolutely love going to work every day - which is truly a blessing. As for some of the lesser known tidbits, I grew up on the family farm, only had 22 people in my high-school graduating class, and I was born on New Year's Eve 1975 . . . My dad being the big softie that he is, always refers to me as his last-minute tax deduction ;^) I enjoy playing with my dog Percy - he's almost three and a half, and he's a Black Lab / Greyhound mix with a pinch of Boxer thrown in just for variety ;^) Thankfully he's old enough that he's starting to calm down . . . he can still be hyper at times, and he definitely has an attitude - he likes to talk back and always has to have the last word (hmm, just like his master? :^)
When I'm not working or playing with Percy, I enjoy working in my yard, and I love to go camping. But I'll admit that I'm still a geek . . . I enjoy sitting at my computer and learning about the various technologies. I love to use Access, and have several different custom databases in production at various clients. SBS has given me great experience with Windows Server, AD, GPOs, Exchange, SQL, ISA, etc . . . I'm currently trying to teach myself SharePoint, VB.net & ASP.net
Well, I think I'll cut it short here so that I actually have something left to write about in future posts . . . and I promise that I will try not to make those future posts as boring as this one! :)
