This new model is going to be provided via the Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF), which was covered in a session earlier this week. In short, MEF uses attributes to describe what a component either exposes (via [Export]) or consumes (via [Import]), and the framework takes care of the matchmaking duties.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Looks like it&amp;#39;ll be a simple matter of decorating your classes and dropping them into an extensions directory.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In other interesting news, the entire VS2010 IDE is moving towards using WPF, starting with the core editor in the most recent CTP.&lt;/p&gt;
