Matt’s Bio
Matt Nunn is a Group Product Manager for Visual Studio Team System and has been with Microsoft for just over 6 years. He currently runs the team responsible for all outbound product management for Visual Studio Team System working with customers, partners and the field. Previously Matt ran product management for the VSTS Database Edition and has worked in both the SQL Server and Microsoft Office Teams within Microsoft. Matt has over 15 years experience in the IT industry working as a developer, DBA, technical project manager and consultant for numerous Microsoft partners as well as many positions within Microsoft. What i'm particularly happy about is that the trend seems to be showing that MSFT is putting more interest into the Australian developers! As mentioned, we've had Steve Balmer down here to show us some DEVELOPER love and we also have a new Product Manager for Developer Tools in Sydney (Joerg Lindner) and i'm certain we're going to be seeing more to him in the near future (get that blog up Joerg!).

It's great to see people succeed in the field they're working in - especially i find it satisfying when people i personally know succeeds (yes, that's true, i'm not just a egocentric old man as my cat is determined that i am).

Peter Ward, Wardy IT Solution's Chief Technical Architect not only received the MVP award for SQL Server this April '07, but he's also taken Wardy IT Solutions further by joining the ranks of Microsoft Certified Partners.

I've worked with Peter and known him for quite some time now and this is a step in the right direction for Wardy IT Solutions.

Nick Mayhew - Reaching out to partners in Australia : Announcing Microsoft Partner Roadshow Plus

Excellent i must say - I took a look at Nick's blog this morning and saw that the next MS Partner Roadshow was announced - and to my delight, Perth was on the map again.

People who have been reading my blog in the past are most likely aware that i feel that Perth is left pretty much to its own devices when it comes to showing the "love" to the MS Partners over here.

By saying this i mean that nearly all events MSFT organised for Partners in Australia, Perth was rarely on the map.

Some time back Nick promised to extend these events to include Perth as much as possible and it's good to see Nick stepping up and delivering on that promise.

I did however notice that Perth didn't get included into the Hosting Day events eventhough Nick did get a commitment from the hosting team to include Perth on their tour back in January.

It's a real shame considering how hot a topic SaaS is becoming these days.

David Lemphers posted an excellent question on his blog - "What do you want from teh SBSC program?".

It's exactly this type of communication that gives Partners and opportunity to voice their "needs" from the Partner program.
