<rant> AFL Players needs to grow up! </RANT>
Normally i don't have an interest in AFL Footy - the nationalsport of Australia that has millions of people glued to the TV each weekend.
But, with increasing controversies coming to light, from players doing stupid stuff like jumping on top of a taxi, pulling an antenna off and beating the driver with it..all the way to secret squirrel "issues" that the captain of the West Coast Eagles, Ben Cousins has..
that's Ben Cousins on the left - now i wonder what "issues" he has, eh? could he be allergic to light? be a vampire? gangrene in his toes? well i can only wonder what "issues" it is he possibly has.
Here's a quote from Denis Pagan:
"I just hope that Ben can straighten whatever issues he's got - no-one knows what they are,"
Are you absolutely sure you don't have any idea what his "issues" could possibly be, eh Denis?
And here's a quote from the coach, John Worsfold:
"It is really up to Ben to decide when he is right to communicate the issues that he is dealing with,"

yeah i see it now - he's probably just a bit tired, so his friend is holding him up..yeah, thats it..duh!
I think it's about time that these pretty boys learn to have a bit of control and realise the depth of the responsibilities they have, once getting into a professional career. Seriously, kids are looking up to these pompous asses.
The fact of the matter is that once you become a sports star, you have some serious responsibilities coming down on you - sure it's hard work and depressing - but the game is being ruined by these players that thinks they can act like an asshat and not be held responsible for it..and why? because they're a "Star"?? IMHO the ruling body of AFL needs to start taking these matters into their own hands, because legalities are often put aside when a footy star sets foot in a court.
Kerr, 23, was fined $1,800 after his lawyer told Perth Magistrates Court he would be also fined $10,000 by his AFL club and faces losing $100,000 in sponsorship for his bad judgment in assaulting the driver after drinking too much.
Seriously???? had that been an ordinary guy he's have gotten jail time for assaulting somebody with a weapon..and the court thinks that's a fair ruling? he gets off with $1800 because he's going to be fined another $10.000 and possibly loose a sponsorship? oh please..what the hell does that have to do with law? "oh i'm really sorry judge, but you see, my wife's going to tell me off when i get home cause i missed dinner now...so can i go now??"..

I'm sure you do buddy - jumping on top of the guys livelyhood showed a great deal of respect..maybe i'm just being odd here and that's some kind of secret taxi driver handshake?
What it really bores down to is that stars can do whatever they want, because they're stars..nevermind that these imbeciles are ruining a game and what it stands for by acting like spoilt little brats..

This is but the last of a string of bad behavior that seems to be constant at the moment..and what is the AFL doing about it? well lets see if they're going to start taking the sport more seriously from now on.
