Spoke to Mitch and he told me that sometimes you have to "refresh" the page - something to do with the template he's running and has modified.

tried it, and voila, the # appeared.

It seems to happen irregularly; maybe when the server is under load. Haven't noticed them disappear for a while though. Cheers again.
