&lt;p&gt;You see the same kind of thing in music, which I picture as a pyramid of performers, with those with little skill and performance ,ie, perhaps just public school music classes, at the bottom; those that have taken lessons on the next level; those that have participated in talent shows on the next rung,\;...on up to those that perform in concert halls at the apex. &amp;nbsp;I have commented in the past that our music tradition has been decimated by the big business of popular music, which has wiped out much of the middle to be able to make huge piles of money out of &amp;quot;stars&amp;quot;. &amp;nbsp;With stars about, the middle will not keep up the performance tradition, and just buy recordings of the stars. &amp;nbsp;A bad situation.&lt;/p&gt;
