Log files shouldn&amp;#39;t be located under the &amp;quot;Program Files&amp;quot; folder. It&amp;#39;s as bad as programs assuming they have write access to the WINDOWS folder.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It would be really nice to see a system/boot partition (depending in which terminology you&amp;#39;re used to) that could be locked read-only, and enabled for writes only for the duration of patching or planned software addition.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Think of all the malware that could never happen if C: was locked read-only for normal use.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Maybe that&amp;#39;s just my UNIX background expecting too much from a Windows system...&lt;/p&gt;
