Vlad is personally illustrating my point, that people who do admin tasks all the time are the ones who hate UAC.

As for why there are so many "turn off UAC" links on Google, there's a few things to say:

1. This search matches "I don't see why anyone needs to turn off UAC", "You should never turn off UAC", etc, etc. That people are talking about an issue does not indicate which side they support.

2. Turning off UAC is quicker than understanding why you shouldn't do so, sadly.

No bull Vlad. Sister, Managing Tax partner, numerous clients, Co workers that all have Vista machines.

Pretty much every Vista user I've come across that isn't an IT pro doesn't find it annoying.

Many of the ITPros that I know do. It's the control thing Vlad.

But EVERYONE doesn't hate UAC. Which was the point of this post. Not "my Sister".

You're definitely a minority. UAC prompts are annoying to no end, and no, 16 step process of hacking them into being less annoying isn't a solution either.

Just because I know you'll respond with your enormous sample set of "Well my sisters PC" bull you always do consider there are 158,000 hits for "turn off UAC" on Google. So Karen vs. 158,000. It's annoying. Deal with it :)

Look at how Apple implements UAC and compare it to the Vista wreck. It's probably the only true Apple commercial.

I want a single version that figures out whether I'm a business user or a games player. But it's got to figure that out before I install it.
