ALWAYS state your mind in the comments section. (I don't care how long it takes for you to come up with your statements, make them clear and concise.. makes them easier to correlate). Have you thought about what YOU need to sell this great product? Let them know, they can't read our minds, but if enough of us put it in print they will (I hope) try to satisfy our needs.

Maybe in last year's survey. 8^)

That's one problem with the "any comments" question at the end of a survey like this. Yes, it gives you the chance to say anything you want, but it doesn't do much to stimulate your thinking in any particular direction.

And so what if I had added this comment to this year's survey and I was the only respondent to mention it? Will my comment get ignored? Certainly. Does it mean that I'm the only one thinking it? Probably not. Ironically, posting it here is likely to attract more attention than responding to the survey.

I may not check for further comments here on Susan's blog.

(Interestingly, this points out one of the problems I have with the "community" -- there are too damn many places to look for information. If Live and that other search engine don't do a good job of indexing the dozens (hundreds?) of SBS-related information and conversations, we'll never be able to find the good stuff. But please don't anyone respond to this point here -- it's not the right place.)

Honestly, if you have some better ideas on questions I can ask, tell me. I leave a rather large verbatim/comments question at the end to let you fill in the blank for me. To me, this is the best part of the survey. It is the most open ended question that you can ask someone. I did my darndest to not ask a leading question. This is part of the reason why the survey leaves you with an empty feeling after you take it. It is really hard to know whether or not the person on the other end is listening.

Trust me and if not me, trust Susan. We do read every comment, look at all of the responses and do our best to take as many action items that we can on what is actionable. One of the reasons why I make this survey anonymous is that it allows someone to really light us up if they want to. I don't care if anyone has an axe to grind. Grind away, just gring constructively and give us something that we can act on.

Thanks for listening. We are trying.

No tshirt?

No $10 for the first 100 people to fill it out?

Where is the incentive, for me as a hard working unemployed Jimmy Joe Bob, to fill out some closed survey that won't benefit me directly today?

But not urging others to stand up and be counted as community is a dangerous thing.
