I was very unhappy when I found out my Action Pack subscription on came with Vista Business upgrade as opposed to full installation. Do we still get 10 installs?

I am anxious to install Vista Ultimate on my personal machine.

What MS doesn't understand is the "Why Now" doesn't address my small business customers needs. Vista might be great and I am not disputing that but the sales message is rubbish.

1. If I install it on my current hardware will my PC run faster? I have been waiting 10 years to have a fast computer and continue to wait. If I go and buy a new PC which generally are being sold with Vista with only 1Gb ram will run slower than my 512Mb XP machine. Speed and cost of hardware are two key factors to small businesses. So you offer a 2 Gb PC with Vista compared to a 1Gb XP machine and XP wins (Pre SP1 anyway).

2. Security - do we know how good the burglar alarm is on our house - or for that matter care? As a small business owner we are focused more on getting the job done. We have a firewall and anti-everything and the IT guys patches my PC so is that a reason to upgrade? Like buying a a new house to get a better alarm.

3. Reliability - XP is Reliable

4. "Windows Vista is the most secure operating system we have ever released" - WTF - you are not going to release software with more flaws than the prior version are you? How can that be a marketing hot point?

Come on MS think of reasons that address the needs of a small business owner because this wishy washy stuff is for idiots not astute business owners.

Your Partner Agreement has a very general rule which more or less says anything MS tells you that is not public knowledge should not be made public by the Partner.

As a side bonus, it tells me that the Partner Program has taken the feedback submitted to them regarding the Upgrade vs. Full debacle and made the concession to keep us happy and make our jobs easier.
