ATI/Nvidia video cards = don't take any drivers from WU

HP printers = don't take any drivers from WU

Audio drivers = dont't try ;)

PCI Modems= No problems

Hi Susan,

I'm glad you're getting this advise out to others. Whenever I see a driver update it serves as notification to head over to the manufactures site and do a full driver update check for all hardware including BIOS updates.

I'veNEVER seen this combination work. As you ruefully remembered after the fact - get the drivers from the manufacturer. Not WU

oooh i relate big time

worst ones are network drivers

i "hide" them all from my users with wsus now

I hate it too when I don't follow my own advice (I consider the source...) and do things like this.

Hi Susan,

Boy, you get badly bit by WU/MU and drivers.

I used to have problems with drivers and WU, but that was back in the bad old Win9X/ME days. I haven't had a single problem with drivers offered up with WU/MU on 2K/XP. Maybe I'm just lucky.
