Why is it not OK on a server, but it is on a workstation? Does a workstation not hold critical data? They mention the need for consumer and small businesses to have this, but doesn't that space have the same change control management requirements that enterprise has? Why does Microsoft feel they know our needs better than we do? What harm is there to communicate every change that MS does to your system? Why was this released out of 2nd tuesday patch cycles?

If I were a government I'd be scared to use these products that MS deems they know best and controls.

If I were a small business or consumer I would (and have) bailed on MS.

If I were a small to enterprise sized company I would seriously consider alternatives... not because I fear for my data (yet), but because WU/AU and it's Genuine Windows/antipiracy architecture is the achilles heel to windows system (technical) failure. One of these days we will witness a massive miscalculation that will have serious repercussions. It's happened before, it'll happen again.
