EBS and Calyptix as SMBTNFresno's discussion group

Join Essential Business Server MVPs Chris Rue and Amy Babinchak for a special presentation at this week's SMBTNFresno discussion group meeting.

6:30 p.m pacific time using Live Meeting.

Amy Babinchak will be presenting on SMB Firewalls featuring Calyptix. She will discuss what needs to be secured when deploying SBS 2008.

Chris Rue will talk about Essential Business Server (EBS) 2008. He will discuss the technical capabilities of EBS from a business value perspective.

The presenters:

Amy owns Harbor Computer Services, a consulting firm specializing in providing IT services to small businesses. She is also Managing Partner of Third Tier, which provides advanced support services to other consultants and vendors.

She has written articles, contributed to the SBS Unleashed books, is the technical editor for others, has been a speaker to many user groups, and conferences. Amy recently founded the EBS virtual user group.

Chris Rue owns Black Warrior Technology, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in messaging, collaboration and mobility solutions.

Chris blogs regularly at www.chrisrue.com. Chris has spoken to numerous technology audiences, including Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference, Microsoft’s Mobile Communications Partner Summit, the Internet Professionals Society of Alabama and a wide array of user groups.

Chris currently serves as co-chair of the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce Technology Advisory Council, and is a graduate of the 2007-2008 class of Leadership Tuscaloosa. In 2008, Chris chaired the very first two West Alabama E-Cycling Day events, which collected nearly 350,000 pounds of e-waste for safe and responsible reclamation.

Last night at SMBTNFresno the SMB partner group meeting was supposed to be on vendors... and it ended up that I 
couldn't arrange in time (thanks Anne for pinging me up with your vendor listing as I am arranging such a meeting for November)

Bottom line we had "smörgåsbord" night.

I talked about Quickbooks (how clients 
screw it up) and tips and tricks of knowing if the file was a good data... 
If you see the account "opening balance equity"
that's a sure sign of a not well set up client as that's a QB plug account.

Bottom line everyone went home with a nugget that make it worth it for them.
