# Microsoft is pushing marketing for Server 2012 Essentials already

Friday, September 07, 2012 10:11 AM by Joe Raby

On the OEM site, they're telling partners to push Windows Server 2012 Essentials by way of the new "First Server" marketing campaign, AND IT ISN'T EVEN FINISHED YET!

www.microsoft.com/.../first-server.aspx

Nowhere does it say "Sell SBS 2011 Essentials now with Software Assurance, get Server 2012 Essentials later".  So they're basically telling partners to hold off on small business deployments until the new stuff comes out.  Doesn't that say something about their small business priorities?
