Lack of XP support is making more sense
No wonder XP and Vista is not supported on Windows 2012 Essentials ....
The connect computer process requires that .NET4.5 is installed. .NET 4.5 is not supported on XP.
.NET Framework 4.5 Developer Preview not on Windows XP, but will RTM support it?:
