Supported clients at this time are Windows 8 Release Preview, Windows 7, Mac OS X version 10.5 to 10.8.  Note it does not include XP or Vista.

Do you think this is a good idea?  Yes or no?

Here's the thing:  XP is pretty much done.  Shouldn't your workstations have an OS that still has mainstream support when you deploy a new server?

As far as Vista, I don't see any technical reason not to support it, but here's the lemonade part: get customers to take advantage of the $40 Windows 8 upgrade and you'll be able to use Hyper-V for backwards compatibility instead of Virtual PC.  And it's faster still than Windows 7 for booting and uses fewer resources.  Customers might actually like Metro apps with their simplistic, more secure approach for everyday tasks (how many times have you had to service computers that end up getting some hijacker toolbar installed in IE? - no more with Metro IE).
