Okay so according to that HP is committed to the PC business.  Okay but then what did you just say a few days ago?

And based on the frenzy of geeks looking for deals for HP web os devices, there is a marketplace for WebOS... it's just not the price tag HP wants to sell it as, it's the price tag of the firesale amounts they are selling at now.

 Bottom line, HP, that was a lousy way to say what you did.

HP is looking really stupid right now. They buy palm for 1.2 billion then ditch it. Then after they ditch it they say they will still support WebOS, but without the hardware. What? They say they want to get rid of the PSG business and then they say they aren't. The best part is they speak of the commitment of their management. The same management that was kept completely out of the loop of last week's bombshell. Ok, I guess that isn't the best part. "...despite the confusion you might be hearing from our competition." The confusion isn't coming from the competition, ok?

If I was one of those cable annalists where they say catchy sound bite things but don't really back them up or ever have to answer to false predictions I'd say something like "HP WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS BY 2012"

"You can remain confident in continuing to sell HP products" comes out sounding like: "we still have tons of s%#@ to clear out of our warehouses before we close up shop".

What happens in 2 or 3 years time when someone needs service though?
