So what do I monitor my HyperV with?
Depends on how big you are. I'm little. I'm a standalone firm. My hyperV is not domain joined. So I don't use SCVMMwhatever thingy private cloud tool just doesn't fit. So what does?
I still recommend that on smaller HyperV deployments you use the full Win2k8 r2 gui. If that server needs remoting-into in the heat of the moment command line is going to be stressful. Yes that means another Win2k8r2 license, but again I think it builds in flexibility.
So whatever normal remote management tools you use now to monitor servers (www.eventsentry.com is one, GFIHounddog. another example, Kasaya, etc,) use that to monitor the parent.
