To answer Joe's question about inplace-upgrade-ability you have to remember the parts that will be in SBS v7(next) that will migrated to.. Exchange 2010.
And is there an inplace migration to ability from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010?
The answer is no you must do another move mailboxes routine to get from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010.
So... therefore is there an inplace upgrade from SBS 2008 to SBS v7(next)
Do the math. The answer is it''s a migration.
But there is a clarification/correction that needs to be made to Paul Thurrott's SBS ariticle http://www.winsupersite.com/events/wpc10.asp and in particular this one - http://www.winsupersite.com/server/sbs7_preview.asp
That is, Aurora cannot be added to an existing Active Directory (AD) domain. Instead, it must be the first server in a new domain. This will limit its uptake with existing customers, and I suspect that is very much on purpose.
There actually will be a migration plan for Aurora and it won't be clean install/forget your entire exisitng AD like it implies there.
