More on Windows Foundation Server
So one of the follow up questions I got about Foundation server was when was it going to be available to be purchased. Actually it is right now.. Check out Dell and HP as they both have this model. Price of the OS is about $269 US for the operating system and it's tied to hardware (thus not available on MSDN or Action pack)

Just like normal server ... standard menu

You can add server roles/features exactly like normal Server 2008

Standard "feature" menu just like in Server 2008

Standard role menu, just like Server 2008

And while the unit actually has 12 gigs (again this is a beta test box from HP that gets shipped back tomorrow)
[Please note it can be a workgroup or a Domain controller or a member server or whatever)

The unit only "sees" 8 gig

It's designed to be that "base" box to get a firm started
