[There's a reason that Yoda is the unofficial mascot of SBS. Size indeed matters not.] So what did you do on your Saturday? - THE OFFICIAL BLOG OF THE SBS "DIVA"

So what did you do on your Saturday?

So during the SBS Build day in Southern California, while you were in a room learning about building SBS servers, I was multitasking and doing a Mini Cooper run up to Jamestown, California with my Sister.

While she went on the Jamestown train (I'd been on it before) I sat in the car in the parking lot and with a cell phone, a laptop with a Sierra Wireless Aircard (running RC of Windows 7 I might add) I called in and did my presentation.  Now THAT's remote computing.

One of the things I said that I do to get stuff installed to get around UAC all the time is to turn it off while installing software and then when I'm all done, I turn it back on.  To do this click on start, run, msconfig, then on the final tab called tools, scroll down and find the "Disable UAC" Click on it.  Most of the time I don't even have to reboot the box, but you can.

click on Disable UAC

Install the software, then go back into msconfig and turn it back on by clicking Enable UAC

And how do you keep 18 Mini Coopers together on a country road?  You have each driver with walkie talkies all dialed into the same code number so we could keep track of all the drivers and so no one got left behind.  While us Mini Coopers were on the road in our community, we also saw groups of folks on Motorcycles doing the scenic drives.  Meanwhile over 100 partners in Los Angeles got together for a build day.

There is strength, fun, and resources in a community.  Whether that's a Mini Cooper one, a Motorcycle one, or a group of partners all getting together to learn about SBS 2008.
