Issue #1
======
Problem Description
-------------------------
Start Resourceexplorer.exe from he command line in SMS 2003
Resolutions
---------------
1. Logon as the administrator on the computer where the SMS Admin console is
installed.
2. Click Start>Run>cmd, open the CMD prompt.
3. At the command prompt, go the following directory:
C:\SMSADMIN\Bin\i386
4. Use the command below to open the resource explorer
resourceexplorer.exe [resourceID]
Note: the [resourceID] here is the computer you want to open. For example,
resourceexplorer.exe computer1.
At this time, it will open a prompt to let you input the SMS site server's
name. After inputting the SMS site server's name and click OK. Then it will
open the Resouceexplorer console for that computer.
The above setting method is for SMS 2003. If you are using SCCM 2007, you
could follow the article below to start Resource Explorer From the Command
Line.

Issue #2
=======
Problem Description
-------------------------
New added client will run the recurring advertisement immediately after it
is added into the collection.
Resolution
--------------
This is an expected behavior, To work around it, modify the mandatory
assignment start time later before adding the new client into the
collection, to do so, follow the steps below:
1. Locate the Advertisement you created for the patch deployment.
2. Right Click and Choose properties, Click Schedule, double Click the
mandatory assignment to open it.
3. Click Schedule, change the Start Time to a time later. Click Ok twice to
save the changes.
4. Then add the new client into the collection. Check if the issue still
exists.
[Note: you have to configure the schedule settings before you add the client
into the collection]

Issue #3
=======
Problem Description
-------------------------
Install web console on second server, however, it cannot pass "Connect to
the Root Management Server" page. The error is "Unable to verify the
server".
Cause:
------------------------------
This message can occur if one of the following is true:
1. connectivity to 5724 port of RMS server is not good.
2. web console version is not the same as RMS server (6.0.5000 is SCOM2007
without sp1, 6.0.6278 is SCOM2007 SP1).
Solution:
------------------------------
Install SP1 version web console on second server.

Issue #4
=======
Problem Description
-------------------------
If you install scom2007 sp1 on Windows 2008, you will get a prompt for .Net
framework 1.1 when you try to install management packs (MSI file).
Cause:
------------------------------
This prompt occurs because the MSI file is designed in the context of .Net
framework 1.1. so, .Net framework 1.1 is required to install the management
pack file.
Workaround:
------------------------------
Installing .net framework 1.1 on SCOM2007 server is not a recommended method
to resolve this issue, because this will override the .Net framework files
you have on Windows 2008 (.Net framework 2.0, .Net framework 3.0 by
default). Please consider installing the management pack on another
computer, then copy the MP files to SCOM2007 server to import them.

Issue #5
======
Problem Description
-------------------------
When some clients perform Automatic Updates, the svchost processes use 100%
CPU.
Resolutions
---------------
Too many old definition updates for Malicious Software Removal Tool (MSRT)
and Forefront Client Security (FCS) etc. can result in this problem.
To resolve it, we can decline all the definition updates except the latest
ones, then running "Server Cleanup Wizard" if necessary.
Issue #6
=======
Problem Description
-------------------------
Windows Server Update event 10032 - "The Server is Failing to Download some
Updates" and Windows Update Services event 364 - "Content file download
failed" in the application log on the WSUS 3.0 SP1 SBS 2003 server
Resolution
--------------
The error event 364 in the application log showed:
"Local Content Cache Path: f:/wsus\WsusContent\"
The path was incorrect. This path is stored in SUSDB. However, operating
SUSDB directly is not supported. We can correct this by running:
"WSUSUtil movecontent f:\wsus f:\wsus\move.log -skipcopy"
