SQL 2008 -- a SMBnation Gotcha topic
Microsoft SMB Community Blog : Is Small Business Server (SBS) 2008 Premium going to ship with SQL 2005 or SQL 2008?:

One of the topics this week on the SBS2k yahoogroups was the topic of SQL rights in SBS 2008. One issue you will need to be aware of (and a gotcha that Ofer and I will be talking about at SMBnation) is the SQL downgrade issue.
SBS 2008 will ship with both SQL 2005 and SQL 2008. After a year you will need to upgrade to SQL 2008 otherwise you will need to roll back to SQL 2003 to run SQL 2005 workgroup.
Now I somehow had the stupid idea that if you bought SBS 2008 during the first year you could install SQL 2005 or SQL 2008 and you would be legal after that. I guess I was blonde it didn't hit me that the requirement will be to upgrade to SQL 2008 in a year.
Given that there is already a patch for post RTM issues for SQL 2008, it will be interesting to see how fast vendors will code for SQL 2008. http://blogs.msdn.com/psssql/archive/2008/09/26/welcome-to-sql-server-2008-patching.aspx
