"We did not use some geeked out or custom built PC. We used an HP Pavilion DV2500. It had 2GB of RAM and was running an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20GHz. The OS was a 32 bit version of Windows Vista Ultimate. "

We have that same model of laptop that we use as a floater at the office.  It is a very peppy little machine.

Ermm... Mojave is Vista stippped down, it is designed to make people believe it is impressive new OS. Want to be impressed? Download Unduntu and installed Compiz Fusion. Smooth, slick, fast 100% customizable and FREE!

Acutally I have that same Vista laptop and it really is that peppy.

Ruman.. to that FREE OS I need to run Windows applications, line of business applications, etc.  Every time I use a non windows platform I find myself in a roadblock situation.

Here in the business world reality that I live in, I live in a windows world.

And besides to find all the drivers, etc would not be FREE it would take my TIME.  And that has value as well.

I've got a Mac, I've tried RedHat, SuSe and Ubuntu.  I use Linux for narrow targeted needs, but at the end of the day my business still needs Windows.  Switching, or attempting to switch to anything else would not be free.
