Whenever I hear "Best practices" I want to get people to stop using that phrase. Because down here most of the best practices documents are done for military and other industrial complexes types of organizations. What you need to do is UNDERSTAND what are in the best practices and then determine, or help determine with your client what's right for them.

On a similar vein, making those client relationships and 'touching' that client and communicating is key.
