Blogging from the train..
And even if you don't have a wireless card like I do you can still get Internet access for your laptop through your Mobile 6 phone. Amtrak provides the power in the walls, so while I'm on the train, I'm powered up.
There are two ways to get internet access from your mobile 6, one is via a tether, the other is via bluetooth. When I've tried bluetooth it's been a bit flakey and thus I'd recommend if you really want to have a solid connection, ensure you travel with the cable.

That blog post is an excellent overview of how easy it is.
I still prefer having a wireless card and a cell phone so I can be surfing 'and' talking at the same time.
P.S. The snack car in the train had a sign.."No service while talking on the cell phone". The church event I went to yesterday, right at the end as the event was finishing up the "Tmobile" sound rang out on someone's phone.
Remember folks...put those phones on stun will ya?
