The temperature in Fresno

http://blog.sbs-rocks.com/?p=79

To respond to Andy.. right now my MacMini is turned off.  As the location where it's sitting at I needed to borrow it's power cord and monitor to turn on a Windows Workstation.

No Vista is not that annoying at all.  What Vista points out is that old dogs complain about learning new tricks.

You really want to know why I bought a MacMini?  Because I wanted to speak authoritatively about it and not like the bulk of the anti-Vista comments that are done by folks that say "I've heard Vista...."

I wanted to speak authoritatively about the way it updates and requires administrative prompts.  (Remember I write articles on patching issues for www.windowssecrets.com so I justified it because I can write it off as a tax deduction... if I couldn't do that I might not have bought it... yeah .. always look at the tax impact..... I also got a bit tired of the "I've heard that Vista..." everywere and I didn't want to be one of those "I've heard"...yes that was a purely emotional response I know.)

I didn't want to be a "I heard ----------- about Mac".

I know that it's firewall has gone down a notch in the Leopard era.  I like Tiger's firewall better.

I know that it was rushed to the marketplace and needs work.

And I can say that authoritatively because I own one.

Not that I heard.  I know.

So while yes, the temperature in Fresno today is a bit chilly.. but it has nothing to do with technology.

P.S.  Yes, I can't group policy the Mac, control it, patch it from the server or nothin...

You can manage Mac OS X clients including patches with software running on the Server edition of Mac OS X.  www.apple.com/.../client.html

You can actually do GP and AD from the Mac using any number of 3rd party products :)
