The wall socket

You walk to your boarding area scanning the columns, the walls, the nooks and crannies for this:

The wall socket.  It's the holy grail you search for.  So you can ensure that your batteries are fully charged before you enter that plane.  My hometown airport of Fresno now has a bench in the gate area that right around the corner of the bench is the plug in, and when my outbound plane was delayed, that's where I sat on the laptop giving the status report to friends on IM.

I've flown through airports where the wall plug ins had no juice, where they were down this connecting corridor (and that's where I sat for 2 hours), where they were in pillars next to the seats...but I'll be honest....while I've been tempted... I've never done this:

Listen, I fly out of Dallas / Ft. Worth far too much for someone that doesn't live there - Considering I'm dropping $$$ left and right at their restaurants, rental cars, limos, etc - I kind of feel I'm entitled to a few kW so I can continue to work on the plane. :)

So yeah.... 10 minutes of battery life left and 4+ hours on the plane... you bet I did it.
