Sharepoint offline you say?

Okay so normally if sharepoint goes offline you are screwed right?  With Colligo the whole point behind the product is that Sharepoint is offline.. in fact it's designed for you to be offline to Sharepoint but give you your Sharepoint and eat it too!

Wayne Small from www.sbsfaq.com gave a presentation tonight in our MVP geek fest about http://www.colligo.com/ which is an offline Sharepoint tool... want to work on Sharepoint and you are offline?  Want to take your sharepoint half way around the world?  Work on it on a plane?  That's the whole point behind Colligo.

The changes are cached locally and then when you log back on the domain the changes are made. http://www.colligo.com/products/sharepoint/index.asp

Very cool.. the reader is free.. the contributor is very cheap.

Check it out!

Will this product still be needed once the world graduates to WSS 3.0 and Office 2007? http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA100738471033.aspx.

Yes - whilst access can take sharepoint info offline, it does not do it as seamlessly as does the Colligo Contributor.  I've been using it since v1.0 and it's been an easy way to keep my WSS sites up to date.  Try it and see.  The extra cool thing is that they have a reader that can provide readonly information for free - therefore not needing upgrades to WSS v3.0 or Office 2007.
