It wasn't dancing pigs...but a Dancing Prince
So .. in full disclosure.... it's all Prince's fault.. or the artist formerly known as or whatever.... you see I had my Zune fired up and listening to a past collection of Prince... you know... 1999 and Let's Go Crazy and all that.... and I was then on Wikipedia and remembered those two girls that were Prince's backup singers... you remember them... so then I go clicking (that's how you can get in trouble you know) and end up on the WendyandLisa.com web site.... and....hmmm....I got that warning...

Hmmmm.. is it real? It kinda looks real, but this isn't a Windows OS warning but one apparently from Adobe Flash that I don't remember seeing before. So very carefully... I click on the control and on the help button... and sure enough... it appears to be a legit warning from Adobe. http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help07.html
Do you recognize and trust the person or company ([site1]) that is trying to access the other site? For example, if [site1] is a well-known website that you use frequently and trust, it is probably safe to allow access.
Hardly... it's actually sort of embarrassing admitting some of Prince's songs are now in my Zune collection in fact, so blogging that I went in search of Prince's former backup singers is even more embarrassing...
Do [site1] and [site2] belong to the same domain? For example, if server1.adobe.com is trying to access server2.adobe.com, you can see that both server1 and server2 are part of the Adobe.com domain, and it is probably safe to allow access.
It does appear that the first site is part of the second site doesn't it? But given that it's not a life or death need of mine to click farther... I think I'll be a bit "tinfoily" tonight and just not click.
So the moral of this story is ... while it wasn't Dancing pigs that got me in trouble... more like a Dancing Prince....but surfing can be hazardous to your paranoia levels.....it's getting harder and harder to know all the "normal" warnings while surfing isn't it? Add one more to your "normal" warnings... Adobe flash now warns about web sites.
