Repeat after me.... you don't patch over RWW

The Outlook Web Access (OWA) form stops responding after you install Internet Explorer 7.0 and the S/MIME control on a client.
That is an Exchange patch that's up on WSUS. That's an Exchange patch that pooches RWW as it takes down IIS.
That is an Exchange patch that needs a reboot.
If you use RWW as your "patching portal" you might get nailed with a patch like this that takes down IIS under your feet before you finish the patch process and get to the "reboot now" window.
Therefore I always consider RWW an "Access portal", not a patching portal.
TS/VPN is a patching portal.
RWW is merely for access.
Got that?
P.S.... being SBS has nothing to do with this... RWW is a web site.. you don't patch using a web site... use the right tool for the job... terminal server access. Got that?
